TOZEUR - Marseille & Calanques

The Tozeur wreck, nestled in the waters of Marseille, is one of those sites we always make time for, especially if we have newer divers in the group. At a maximum depth of 9m, it’s remarkably accessible and offers a proper wreck experience without the pressure of deep diving. This isn't some scattered debris; you can still make out the superstructure of the old tugboat, sunk back in the 1950s. We love finning slowly over the deck, imagining its working days. The hull is now a tapestry of colour, soft corals and sponges have absolutely taken over, and it’s become a real apartment block for nudibranchs – keep your eyes peeled, there are often a few different species clustered together. You’ll find schools of damselfish flitting in and out of the broken cabins, and often a grumpy scorpionfish or two perfectly camouflaged against the hull. For photographers, the ambient light at this depth is fantastic, making for some truly vibrant shots. It's an ideal spot for a relaxed dive, focusing on macro life and the simple charm of a well-aged wreck.
