PANAGIS (PROBABLY) - Alonissos Marine Park

Panagis (Probably) is one of those Mediterranean wrecks that truly tells a story. We love how accessible it is, sitting upright in just 7 metres of water, making it perfect for divers who want a relaxed look at history without depth limits. You’ll find the 56-metre hull broken in places, spread across the rocky seabed, but the bow section is remarkably intact, still facing towards its final destination. Swimming over the deck, you can see the cargo holds where light pours in, illuminating schools of chromis darting around. Our favourite part is the stern; the propeller and rudder are still there, overgrown with sponges and small anemones. Look closely, and you’ll spot scorpionfish camouflaged on the hull and moray eels peeking out from darker crevices. It’s an easy dive, often with good visibility, letting you really take your time exploring the different sections and imagining its journey. We’d suggest going in the late morning, after any morning boat traffic has settled, when the sun is high enough to really light up the wreck.
