Seaplane wreck - Alonissos Marine Park

The Seaplane wreck in Alonissos Marine Park offers a different kind of dive for those exploring the Greek islands. It’s a relatively intact wreck, a Junkers 52, which went down during WWII, and now it rests upright on the seabed. We found schools of damselfish darting around the fuselage and often spotted moray eels peeking from beneath the wings. It’s a good one for photographers looking for something beyond rocky reefs, and the depth usually keeps it accessible for most certified divers. There's a certain quiet dignity to it, especially when the light filters down through the water and illuminates parts of the cockpit.
