Thassos scuba diving - Alonissos Marine Park

Thassos is a good solid dive within the Alonissos Marine Park, though perhaps not the flashiest site in the area. We often drop in here when the boat's moving between more distant spots. The reef here holds a surprising variety of creatures if you take your time, from the delicate Mediterranean Beadlet Anemone to the chunky Common Spiny Lobsters tucked into crevices. Keep an eye out for Risso's Crabs scuttling across the seabed and the occasional flash of black sea bream. The Pink Sea Fans add a nice splash of colour against the rock. It's a relaxed dive, good for those who enjoy poking around and finding the smaller stuff, making it suitable for newer divers or anyone looking for a chilled-out afternoon.
