ELETIN IV - Zakynthos & Ionian Islands

Eletin IV sits just off the coast of Zakynthos, a casualty of weather back in 1993. This isn't a deep dive, barely reaching 5 meters, which makes it incredibly accessible. We love that you can snorkel this site just as easily as you can dive it, making it a solid choice for groups with mixed interests. The wreck itself is a 38-meter cargo ship, fairly intact considering its age and the shallow water. What really stands out here is how the sea has completely reclaimed it. The cargo holds are open, perfect for a quick swim-through, and you'll find clouds of damselfish darting between the rusty beams. Look closely, and you might spot a moray eel peeking from a pipe or a scorpionfish blending into the growth. On a calm day, with good sunlight, the visibility is fantastic, and the light filtering into the wreck creates some dramatic shadows. We'd suggest going early in the morning to beat any potential boat traffic, and you’ll often get the best light then too. It's a genuinely charming wreck dive, full of character.
