Milford Haven Wreck - Portofino & Liguria

The Milford Haven wreck is a big one. Seriously, it's a massive supertanker sitting upright on the seabed, broken into two main sections. We love big wrecks, and this one doesn't disappoint for sheer scale alone. You descend onto the bridge structure first, often with schools of barracuda circling above and around you. The bridge itself is pretty mangled, but the sheer size of the hull stretching into the blue below gives you a real sense of its former life. Our favourite part is dropping down to the stern section. The prop is still there, huge and encrusted, and there are some fantastic penetration opportunities into the engine room, but only for those with proper wreck training and guide. Inside, the light plays off the metalwork, revealing moray eels tucked into crevices and big groupers eyeing you from the shadows. Conditions can be tricky here, with strong currents a real possibility, so we always suggest picking your day carefully and going with a local operator who knows the site well. It’s a proper dive, one that leaves you buzzing.
