With 70+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, humpback whales, mobula rays (devil rays) and oceanic whitetip sharks - Morcone Bay offers some of Portofino & Liguria's richest reef diving. Water ranges 14-27°C, warmest July, August, September.
Morcone Bay offers a gentle introduction to Portofino's underwater landscape. We found rocky reefs sloping down, home to modest schools of Mediterranean fish like damselfish and the occasional moray eel peeking from crevices. It’s a good spot for newer divers looking for relaxed conditions, or for a second, shallower dive after exploring deeper sites nearby. Visibility here is generally reliable, making for an easy, pleasant dive.
