MOROSINI - Portofino & Liguria
Morosini isn't about deep blue adventures; it's a shallow historical marvel, a distributed wreck sitting just 10 metres down. We love it for its accessibility and the way history feels so tangible here. The wreck, remnants of a naval vessel, is scattered across the seabed, creating a fascinating landscape of metal and marine growth. You'll spend your dive exploring these fragments, poking around twisted girders and plates that now form homes for octopus and moray eels. Look closely and you'll spot nudibranchs, their colours surprisingly vivid against the rust-red metal. This site is perfect for photographers who appreciate the interplay of light and shadow on historical artefacts, and for anyone who prefers a longer bottom time without the decompression stress. Visibility here can vary, but on a good day, the sunlight filters down, illuminating the scene beautifully. We’d suggest going in the morning before any boat traffic picks up; it makes for a much more serene experience. The real joy of Morosini is the calm exploration it offers, a chance to connect with a piece of the past, now very much part of the present ecosystem.
