The team at 2.0 Diving run a smooth operation right out of Portofino, a spot we know well for its charm and, let’s be honest, its crowds. What we love about these guys is their dedication to the Portofino Marine Protected Area. They know every nook and cranny, which means you’re not just getting a dive, you’re getting a guided tour by people who genuinely care about the local ecosystem. They’re a PADI 5 Star IDC centre, so whether you’re looking to take your first tentative fin kicks or become an instructor yourself, they’ve got you covered. For qualified divers, their local knowledge really shines. We’ve had some fantastic dives with them on the Christ of the Abyss, a site that can feel a bit like Grand Central Station if you don't time it right. 2.0 Diving often suggest going first thing in the morning, which we heartily endorse – you get the light hitting the statue just so, and it’s a lot quieter down there. The boat rides are short, zippy affairs, usually meaning more bottom time. Expect to see plenty of schooling bream and often a curious sunfish drifting by in the blue if you’re lucky. We find their local insights, like which way the current usually runs on a particular day, invaluable for getting the most out of each dive. They really make Portofino diving feel personal, not just another group outing.
