Relitto Bolzaneto - Portofino & Liguria

The Relitto Bolzaneto is a proper wreck dive, a big old cargo ship sitting upright at 47 metres. This isn't one for beginners, obviously, but for experienced divers with the right qualfications, it’s a brilliant exploration. We love the way the Mediterranean light still filters down here, even at depth, illuminating sections of the bow and stern. You’ll find walls of jewel anemones, vivid oranges and purples, clinging to the metalwork, and big scorpionfish often camouflaged amongst the growth on the deck. Look closely and you might spot conger eels poking out from darkened hold entrances. Our favourite part has to be the intact superstructure, still offering opportunities for a brief penetration if you’re properly trained and equipped. Dive it early in the morning for the best chance of clear water, before the boat traffic gets too busy.
