With 70+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, humpback whales, mobula rays (devil rays) and oceanic whitetip sharks - U-455 offers some of Portofino & Liguria's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 14-27°C, warmest July, August, September.
Descending to 48 meters, the U-455 is a substantial wreck for expert divers. The German submarine lies intact on a sandy bottom, its hull covered in gorgonians and sponges. You can explore the conning tower and various external features, often finding resident scorpionfish and conger eels hiding within. It's a deep, dark dive, demanding good bottom time management.
