With 70+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, humpback whales, mobula rays (devil rays) and oceanic whitetip sharks - UNION offers some of Portofino & Liguria's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 14-27°C, warmest July, August, September.
The UNION wreck in Portofino Bay is a shallow, gentle introduction to wreck diving, perfect for those just getting comfortable below the surface. Sitting at a maximum depth of 4 meters, it's accessible to nearly everyone, even snorkelers on a calm day. We’ve found the stern section, still fairly intact, is a great spot to explore, with cracks and crevices now home to small blennies and darting damselfish. It’s a nice, easy dive to stretch your fins or to practice buoyancy without any major pressure.
