Why dive here
With 74+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, mobula rays (devil rays), oceanic whitetip sharks and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - Grotta Fantasmi offers some of Sardinia's richest cave diving. Water ranges 14-27°C, warmest July, August, September.
Grotta Fantasmi, or "Ghost Cave," offers a moody dive with a unique atmosphere in Sardinia. We typically find interesting light effects as daylight penetrates the cavern entrance, illuminating the rocky formations within. It’s a good choice for divers comfortable in overhead environments looking for something a bit different from a standard reef dive. Just make sure to bring a good torch; some sections get pretty dim.
Safety Notes
Overhead environment - never enter without proper cave/cavern training, redundant equipment, and a guideline.
