CITTA DI TRAPANI - Ustica

The Citta di Trapani, run aground in a 1957 storm, is one of those wrecks we keep coming back to. It’s shallow, just 7 metres at its deepest, but don't let that fool you. The wreck itself, with its hull and superstructure still largely intact, offers a fantastic sense of history. You can still make out the ship’s lines, imagining the storm that brought it here. It’s an easy dive, perfect for photographers or anyone who just wants a relaxed exploration. Sunlight streams through the water, illuminating the metalwork and the sea life that’s colonised it. We’ve spent hours here, watching schools of damselfish flit through the old cabins, and glimpsing moray eels peeking from beneath twisted metal. The bow, in particular, is a great spot to find octopus nestled amongst the growth. It’s not about huge pelagics here; it's about the small, intricate world that’s made this old ship its home.
