Why dive here
With 60+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, sea turtles and sperm whales - Grotta Maltese offers some of Ustica's richest cave diving. Water ranges 15-29°C, warmest July, August, September.
Grotta Maltese offers a classic Ustica cavern dive. We head into a large, inviting grotto, where shafts of sunlight pierce the water, illuminating schools of small fish that dart between the rocks. It’s a straightforward, atmospheric dive, great for those new to overhead environments or looking for a relaxing second dive. You'll find it calm and protected, usually with excellent visibility.
Safety Notes
Overhead environment - never enter without proper cave/cavern training, redundant equipment, and a guideline.
