SCIMITARRA - Ustica

The Scimitarra is a fishing vessel, sitting upright and mostly intact on a flat sandy bottom at 17 meters. You don't need to be an advanced diver to enjoy this one; it’s a perfect depth for a relaxed exploration. What we love about this wreck is how much life it attracts, turning the boat into an artificial reef. Keep an eye out for resident scorpionfish tucked into crevices and the occasional moray eel peeking from the hold, with schools of damselfish often swirling overhead. It’s a compelling site for photographers, too, especially on a sunny day when light shafts pierce the water, illuminating the wreck’s details.
