Ta’ Ħammud - Comino

Scott Reef is one of those places you really have to work to get to, but it’s absolutely worth the effort. Forget the crowds closer to shore; out here, the water feels different, a deeper, richer blue. We love the sheer scale of the coral structures, particularly the staghorn forests that seem to go on forever. You’ll find schools of yellow spotted trevally zipping through the channels, and if you take your time, those big tuskfish aren't shy about checking you out. This is a site for divers who appreciate genuine remoteness and aren’t afraid of a longer boat ride. Our pick for a perfect dive here is early morning, when the light really makes the fluorescence grass coral pop. Keep an eye out for thorny flatheads camouflaged on the sand patches – they're masters of disguise.
