Black Frog Divers - Al Hoceima
Forget what the old website says about Torrox Costa. The team at Black Frog Divers are now firmly rooted in Al Hoceima, and we’re so glad they are. This PADI 5-Star outfit specialises in opening up Morocco’s Mediterranean coast, an area often overlooked but full of surprises. If you’re tired of the usual Red Sea crowds or European Med mainstays, Black Frog offers something genuinely different – it’s for divers who appreciate pioneering new spots and a personal touch. We’ve always found their operation to be incredibly professional, yet still friendly and relaxed. They run a tight ship, from well-maintained gear to thorough briefings, but it never feels overly formal. What we particularly love about diving with them here is the sheer sense of discovery. You’re not just following a rope down to a crowded mooring; you’re exploring reefs that few other divers have seen. Picture walls draped in red gorgonians, bright against the deep blue, with schools of barracuda circling overhead. The visibility can be excellent, often hitting 20 metres or more on a good day, giving everything a crisp, vibrant feel. We’d suggest going in late spring or early autumn for the best conditions and fewer crowds. Ask them about their trips to the deeper pinnacles – those are our favourite.
