With 140+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, ocean sunfish (mola mola), octopuses, sea turtles and sperm whales - Laja de San José offers some of Al Hoceima's richest reef diving. Water ranges 16-23°C, warmest July, August, September.
Laja de San José is one of the more talked-about reefs in Al Hoceima, sitting in the Mediterranean off Morocco’s coast. We’ve found it to be a good spot for a relaxed dive, usually with decent visibility. You’ll typically see a decent range of the smaller Mediterranean reef fish here, along with some colourful corals. It’s a solid pick for divers looking for a straightforward, pleasant experience without strong currents.
