PANAGLOSA - Al Hoceima

Panaglosa is a standout for us in Al Hoceima, not for vibrant corals, but for its sheer character. This isn't some deep, dark enigma; it's a tugboat resting in just 6 metres of water, perfectly preserved and absolutely buzzing. We love how the sun dapples through the shallows, illuminating every rivet and the massive propeller, making it feel more like an open-air museum than a wreck. You’ll spend a good chunk of your dive simply circling the Panaglosa, taking in the scale, but the real magic happens when you get close. Schools of juvenile barracuda often swirl around the superstructure, shimmering silver in the light. Look a little closer, and you’ll spot scorpionfish camouflaged against the rust, and octopuses tucked into every crevice imaginable. Our favourite part is peeking into the wheelhouse, where the controls are still eerily intact, encrusted now with a thin layer of sponge. It’s a shallow dive, so bottom time is generous, making it perfect for photographers or anyone who just wants to soak it all in without rushing. It suits divers who appreciate history and the way the sea reclaims things, rather than those chasing pelagics.
