SLAOUI - Al Hoceima
Slaoui is one of Al Hoceima's more intriguing dive sites, a fishing vessel that now lies broken on the seabed at a shallow 15 metres. It’s certainly a dangerous wreck, as the local dive guides will tell you, but that’s because the fishing nets are still very much in evidence. We found schools of damselfish flitting through the superstructure, and octopuses tucked into crevices, making it a good spot for macro photography. The wreck itself is quite spread out now, a result of time and weather, but there’s still plenty of steel to explore. It’s a solid dive for those who enjoy poking around a bit of history, and it’s shallow enough for newer wreck divers too.
