CHRISTINA - Stavanger & Rogaland

The Christina, off Stavanger, isn’t your typical tropical wreck. It’s cold water diving, sure, but what you lose in colour, you gain in atmosphere and a certain rugged charm. We love a good trawler wreck, and the Christina delivers – she lies upright and mostly intact at 20 meters, which makes for a comfortable dive, even for those still building their wreck experience. You’ll drop down onto the wheelhouse, often finding it draped in those feathery plumose anemones, their white tentacles swaying gently in the slight current. Moving around the deck, you can peer into the holds; we always spot cod lurking in the shadows, sometimes a ling, and the occasional crab scuttling across the deck plates. The visibility here can be excellent, especially in autumn, letting you really appreciate the silhouette of the wreck against the greenish light. It’s a dive that tells a story, a working boat now home to the sea life of the North Sea. For divers who appreciate history and the unique beauty of cold-water wrecks, the Christina is a quiet favourite of ours.
