Gudrun - Stavanger & Rogaland

Gudrun isn't your typical Stavanger dive. Forget the wrecks for a moment. This site is all about the quiet beauty of the Norwegian coastline and the hardy creatures that thrive there. We love it for its unexpected encounters. You'll likely spot haddock moving in schools, their silver scales flashing against the green-blue water, and the curious four-bearded rockling darting amongst the kelp. What makes Gudrun special is its surprisingly rich array of birds. Keep an ear out for the calls of the Eurasian Oystercatcher from above the surface, or watch for the sleek dives of a Guillemot. The occasional harbour porpoise sighting isn't out of the question either, a true highlight. It’s not a deep dive, perfect for extending your bottom time and really observing the smaller details. We'd suggest a calm day to make the most of the visibility, which can be surprisingly good here, letting you appreciate the delicate Alder's Necklace Shells on the seabed. This site is for divers who appreciate marine life beyond the "big stuff," for those who find joy in observation and the subtle rhythms of a coastal ecosystem.
