HELENE JENSEN - Stavanger & Rogaland

The Helene Jensen is our pick for a classic Norwegian wreck dive, especially if you’re around Stavanger. This isn’t one of those deep, dark technical challenges; she sits comfortably at 20 metres, making her accessible to most divers. We love that she’s relatively intact, giving you a real sense of her former life as a motor vessel. You can still make out the mast structure, reaching up from the seabed. What truly makes the Helene Jensen special is how marine life has taken over. You’ll find walls of plumose anemones, their feathery tentacles swaying with the gentle surge. Crab and lobster tuck themselves into every crevice, while schools of cod and pollock often patrol the deck. We’d suggest a slow, deliberate exploration, giving yourself time to peer into the holds, maybe even spot a wolfish lurking in the gloom if you're lucky. It's a dive that combines a good piece of history with the vibrant life that now calls it home.
