ILJERNSFLU LTV - Stavanger & Rogaland

The LTV wreck, sitting at 30 metres, is one of our favourite dives in the Stavanger region. What makes it special isn't just the fact it's a wreck, but the story behind its sinking in a collision. You descend into a green gloom that feels distinctly Norwegian, then the bow emerges, often silhouetted against the ambient light filtering down. We love the way the light plays on the steel plates, highlighting the torn metal from the impact. You’ll spend most of your time exploring the open cargo holds, which are now home to thick clusters of plumose anemones, their white tentacles reaching out like tiny, hungry flowers. Look closely and you’ll find squat lobsters tucked into every crevice, along with the occasional ling or cod patrolling the darker corners. The visibility can vary, but on a good day, the sense of scale is impressive, and the wreck's structure is surprisingly intact for a collision. This site suits divers comfortable with colder water and deeper dives, offering a genuinely engaging wreck experience without being overly challenging.
