MARLENE KARINA - Stavanger & Rogaland

The Marlene Karina isn’t your typical Norwegian wreck. We love this site for its genuine character; it feels like the fishing vessel just vanished mid-voyage. Dropping onto her deck at 30 metres, you're immediately struck by how intact she is – a classic trawler, perfectly upright, nets still draped in places. We’ve spent hours here, meticulously exploring the bridge, peering into the open holds where juvenile cod often shelter, and circling the stern. The soft corals here, especially the colourful plumose anemones, really pop against the dark steel, creating a stark but beautiful contrast. Look closely for wolf fish lurking in crevices and the occasional lumpfish clinging to the superstructure. This is a site for the wreck enthusiast who appreciates history and a proper exploration, not just a quick swim-through. Dive it on a calm day for the best visibility, and definitely bring a good torch; the holds are dark and inviting.
