MV Seattle - Stavanger & Rogaland
The MV Seattle isn't just another wreck dive; it's a history lesson encased in steel, resting on its starboard side in the chill Norwegian waters. We love how the story of its scuttling during WWII adds a layer of sombre fascination to the dive. Dropping down, you're immediately struck by the sheer scale of it, the bow looming out of the gloom. Our favourite part is exploring the cargo holds, where the light filters in through openings, illuminating the ghostly outlines of what was once within. It’s a proper penetration dive for those with the right training, but even from the outside, the hull is thick with plumose anemones, their feathery tentacles swaying with the gentle surge. Look for the schools of cod and pollock that have claimed the wreck as their territory, often darting between the broken superstructure. This site really suits divers who appreciate a wreck with a narrative, offering a contemplative dive amidst some truly impressive artificial reef life. We'd suggest going in late spring or early summer for the best visibility, before the plankton blooms get too heavy.
