Reketråler - Stavanger & Rogaland

The Reketråler, Norwegian for "shrimp trawler," isn't some deep, dark secret, but it’s still one of our favourite shallow wrecks in the Stavanger area. We love that it’s sitting upright and mostly intact at just 15 metres, making it super accessible for divers of all experience levels. You can swim through the wheelhouse, explore the cargo hold, and even peek into the engine room if you’re comfortable with a bit of overhead. What we really appreciate here is how the local marine life has utterly taken over. Think plump common crabs tucked into every crevice, wolfish peering out from under plates, and the occasional ling slinking past. The visibility can be a bit variable, but even on a greener day, the wreck’s structure provides plenty to focus on. Our top tip? Go on an incoming tide; it usually brings the clearest water. It's a proper little time capsule, a glimpse into Norway’s fishing past, now completely repurposed as a thriving artificial reef.
