VEGAR - Stavanger & Rogaland
The Vegar wreck, off Fjelberg, is a solid choice for a wreck dive in Stavanger. This old motor vessel went down in 1977, en route to Bergen, settling upright at 25 metres. We found the wheelhouse and stern still largely intact, which always makes for interesting swim-throughs, especially for those who enjoy a bit of penetration. You’ll spot a surprising amount of plumose anemones clinging to the darker parts of the wreck, and we’ve often seen cod lurking in the deeper holds. It’s a good, accessible dive for advanced open water divers comfortable with cooler waters and a bit of a current.
