VESTRA (POSSIBLY) - Stavanger & Rogaland

The Vestra, down at 48 metres, is one of those wrecks that really sticks with you. She’s a trawler, sank back in 1952, and now she sits upright, mostly intact on the seabed. We love the way she’s taken on the feel of an artificial reef over the years; the fishing gear is still there, draped with anemones, and you’ll often find large cod nosing around the wheelhouse. Diving the Vestra means navigating the sometimes-low visibility that Norway can throw at you, but when it clears, the sight of her superstructure emerging from the gloom is genuinely impressive. We’d suggest a good dive light to pick out the details, and make sure you’re comfortable with deeper dives – it’s not one for the faint of heart. This site suits divers who appreciate historical wrecks and the way marine life reclaims them, rather than those chasing colourful coral. It's a proper wreck dive, dark and moody, full of character.
