VIGGEN - Stavanger & Rogaland

Viggen is one of those wrecks that just hits different. We’ve done our share of hydrofoil dives, but this one, sitting upright at 24 metres, has a real presence. You drop down, and suddenly, those distinctive hydrofoils emerge from the gloom, looking almost alive. The bow, especially, is a sight, quite sharp and angular. We love how the wreck isn’t just a pile of metal. It feels like you’re exploring a time capsule. Inside, you can still see hints of its former life – some gauges, control panels, bits of wiring. Even better, it’s become a home for a surprising amount of cold-water life. Look for big Atlantic cod lurking in the shadows and wolfish peeking out from beneath the hull plates. The nudibranchs here are particularly colourful, a real splash against the rust. Viggen is a solid dive for anyone with some experience in colder water and a passion for wrecks with a story.
