WINNI OHRT - Stavanger & Rogaland

The Winni Ohrt sits upright on a sandy bottom, an impressive sight as it materializes out of the green Norwegian water. Dropping to the wheelhouse at 20m, or venturing deeper to the stern at 37m, the wreck offers plenty to explore without being overly complex. We love the way the light filters through the structure, illuminating schools of saithe that swirl around the mast. Look closely at the deck for nudibranchs, often some colourful specimens, and don’t forget to peek inside the hold where you might find a lurking conger eel. What makes the Winni Ohrt a standout for us isn't just its intact state, but the way it's become a thriving artificial reef. It’s accessible enough for advanced open water divers comfortable with depth, but still deep enough to feel like a real expedition. Our favourite tip is to time your dive for a calm day, early morning if possible, to get the best visibility and a chance to have the wreck largely to yourself. It’s a proper wreck dive, full of atmosphere and life, and a great example of Norway’s often-overlooked underwater treasures.
