CONSEIL FRERES - Algarve & Berlengas

Conseil Frères is a genuinely solid wreck dive, especially if you’re into history and don’t need huge depths. It’s a buoy tender, a working ship that met its end during World War II, sunk by a mine. We love how intact it still is, resting upright on a sandy bottom at a very manageable 10 metres. You can fin right over the deck, peering into cargo holds that now shelter schools of sardines, their scales catching the light. Look for conger eels tucked into the darker recesses, and we’ve spotted plenty of nudibranchs clinging to the superstructure. It’s an easy, leisurely dive, perfect for photographers or anyone wanting to spend quality time exploring a single, evocative structure rather than rushing through a deep profile. We’d suggest going early to avoid any boat traffic.
