With 116+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - Cortinas offers some of Algarve & Berlengas's richest diving. Water ranges 15-19°C, warmest June, October, November.
Cortinas, off the Algarve coast, is a straightforward dive, topping out at 15 metres. It’s mostly sand and rock formations, home to the usual suspects you’d expect: bream, wrasse, and sometimes an octopus peeking out. Visibility can be hit or miss, but on a good day, it’s a calm introduction for newer divers or a relaxed second dive.
