WeDive - Algarve & Berlengas
The team at WeDive are our kind of people – they run a slick PADI operation out of Lagos, but it never feels like a conveyor belt. They really shine when it comes to exploring the Berlengas Natural Reserve. We’d suggest dedicating at least a couple of days there; the boat ride out can be a bit bumpy, but it’s worth it for the granite formations and the resident schools of snapper. Our favourite dive with them in Berlengas is the *Rasa* wreck. It’s an old cargo ship, sitting upright in about 20 metres, and the visibility is often a startling 25 metres. We’ve seen conger eels curled up in the hold and huge spider crabs scuttling across the deck. For something a little different, the Algarve coast offers some interesting cave diving. It’s not for everyone, but WeDive’s instructors are excellent at guiding you through the tight squeezes and the shafts of light that pierce the surface. They’re great for a no-fuss dive trip, whether you're knocking out a PADI course or just keen to get wet.
