FLORA - Algarve & Berlengas
The Flora, a merchant vessel that went down back in 1934, lies at a considerable 55 metres off Cape St Vincent. This isn't one for the newer divers among us, with the depth demanding some real experience and comfort in low visibility. What you find down there is a substantial wreck, over 100 metres long, largely intact and silhouetted against the dark water. We've seen conger eels tucked into the deeper sections, and if you bring a good light, the hull plating reveals plenty of small crabs and nudibranchs clinging on. It’s a deep, contemplative dive, perfect for those who appreciate the history and quiet solitude of a truly submerged wreck.
