JOMABA - Algarve & Berlengas

JOMABA isn't your typical wreck dive, and that's precisely why we love it. The wreck itself is a dangerous one, a fishing vessel that ran aground near shore. With a maximum depth of two metres, it’s less a dive and more a snorkel or free-dive exploration, but don’t let that deter you. The hull sits broken and exposed, creating a fascinating jumble of metal and wood. You’ll find schools of small fish darting through the shattered timbers, almost as if they’re playing hide and seek. We've seen crabs scuttling over corroded plates, and anemones clinging to the shadowed nooks. It’s accessible, different, and truly shows how quickly nature reclaims what’s been lost. Our tip? Go at high tide for the best visibility, when the water settles and you can really get a sense of the wreck's structure. It's an ideal spot for macro photography or for introducing new snorkelers to the magic of an artificial reef without the deep water worries.
