MILTON - Algarve & Berlengas

MILTON is a classic, shallow wreck dive, and we absolutely love it for a relaxing second dive or for divers getting comfortable with overhead environments. Sitting upright at just 10 metres, this old steamship is surprisingly intact given its age, resting on a sandy bottom. The ship’s superstructure is still recognisable, and you can swim through various cargo holds, which are now completely colonised by schooling fish. Look for moray eels tucked into the darker recesses, and we’ve often seen big schools of sea bream and even the occasional octopus here. The light penetration through the openings is fantastic, creating a moody, atmospheric dive without any real challenge. It's an ideal site for photographers and anyone keen to explore a piece of history without the complications of depth or strong currents.
