PEGASUS - Algarve & Berlengas

The Pegasus, sitting at 29 meters, is our pick for a proper wreck dive in the Algarve. We love a wreck that still feels like a ship, not just a pile of scrap, and the Pegasus delivers. She was a motor vessel, sank back in '66, and you can still make out her lines, her bridge structure, and even penetrate the cargo holds if you're comfortable with overhead environments. The visibility here can be decent, letting you appreciate the scale as you descend through the blue, seeing the dark silhouette slowly resolve into a proud hull. Look closely and you’ll spot resident scorpionfish tucked into crevices, nudibranchs crawling along the plates, and shoals of small fish darting in and out of the openings. For those who appreciate a wreck with history and character, it’s a compelling dive.
