With 219+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and hammerhead sharks - Biscoitos Gate offers some of Azores's richest diving. Water ranges 16-24°C, warmest August, September, October.
Biscoitos Gate is a solid intermediate dive, generally staying around 19 meters. You’ll find some interesting rock formations here, often with plenty of nudibranchs and smaller crustaceans tucked away. It's a good spot for a relaxed exploratory dive, particularly if you enjoy taking your time to find the little things. We think it’s a good choice for those looking for something a bit different from the usual pelagic-focused Azores dives.
