With 219+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and hammerhead sharks - GAZA offers some of Azores's richest reef diving. Water ranges 16-24°C, warmest August, September, October.
GAZA sits at a consistent 18m, making it a good intermediate dive. It's a volcanic rock formation with some interesting nooks and crannies to explore. Expect to see some of the usual suspects here: small schooling fish, a few moray eels tucked into crevices, and nudibranchs if you look closely. We find it's a solid choice for a second dive of the day, or if you're looking for something less demanding.
