With 219+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales and hammerhead sharks - LOURENÇOS offers some of Azores's richest diving. Water ranges 16-24°C, warmest August, September, October.
Lourenços, off the Azores, is a decent dive for intermediate divers. It drops to about 35 metres, so good buoyancy control helps. We usually find schools of barracuda here, along with groupers tucked into the rocky crevices. It's a solid, straightforward dive if you're looking to explore the deeper volcanic structures.
