S. SALVADOR - Azores

The S. Salvador isn't about depth, it's about accessibility and history. Resting in a mere two metres of water, this wreck is perfect for snorkelers, freedivers, or even just a casual dip with a mask and fins. We've spent many an afternoon poking around its easily visible hull sections, which are now completely encrusted with small barnacles and colourful algae. It's a busy little ecosystem, usually with clouds of juvenile fish darting in and out of the metal plates and a few resident octopuses tucked into crevices. If you’re in the Azores and fancy a gentle, unpressured glimpse into the past, this wreck is a solid choice.
