SISKIN - Northumberland & Northeast

The Siskin, formerly the Wendy Louise and Carol Ann, is a trawler that went down in 2005. At 28m, it’s a good target for advanced divers looking for something a bit deeper off the Northumberland coast. The wreck lies on its side, mostly intact, though time and the sea have certainly taken their toll. You can still make out the wheelhouse and parts of the deck machinery, now draped in dead man's fingers and home to plenty of cod, conger eels, and the occasional ling. Visibility here can be a bit of a gamble, but on a good day, it’s a solid wreck dive with a decent amount to see. It’s certainly not tropical, but for a piece of maritime history colonised by North Sea life, it’s a worthwhile dive.
