THRACIAN - Northumberland & Northeast

The Thracian lies at 31 metres, a substantial steel sailing vessel that sank in 1892 while under tow. We generally find the visibility here can be a bit hit or miss, but on a good day, the scale of the wreck is impressive. You can explore the large hull structure, which is now home to plenty of cod, conger eels, and large edible crabs tucked into crevices. It’s a site for divers comfortable with deeper wrecks, offering a solid penetration dive for those with the right training and equipment. Keep an eye out for the rudder and propeller, which are often buzzing with smaller shoals of pollock.
