ALERT - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Alert, a sailing vessel sunk by a German submarine in 1918, lies in 42 meters on the seabed off the Scottish East Coast. This is a dive for experienced deep divers comfortable with colder water and potentially low visibility. While we haven't seen an explosion of marine life, the wreck itself holds a certain gravitas. You'll find sections of the hull still upright, with the bow and stern showing the most detail, though time and bombs have taken their toll. Crabs and small fish shelter in the broken timbers, and the atmosphere of a century-old war grave is palpable.
