With 112+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - SPIRIT OF ARGYLL offers some of Scottish West Coast's richest wreck diving.
The Spirit of Argyll sits in a shallow bay, making it a good option for a relaxed dive on the Scottish West Coast. This small cruiser, only 10.7 meters long, went down in relatively good weather back in 2001. We’ve found it’s shallow enough, around 8 meters, that you get decent bottom time, and the light often filters through nicely. The wreck itself is a compact metal hull, now well-colonised by local anemones and a surprising number of small crabs tucked into every crevice. It’s a nice introduction to wreck diving, not too overwhelming, and generally quite sheltered.
