The Meldon - Scottish West Coast

The Meldon, off Scotland's West Coast, is a classic British wreck dive. This old cargo steamer sits upright, broken into two main sections, making for some interesting navigation through the scattered debris. We've always found it a good depth for extended bottom times, usually around the 25-30 metre mark, with plenty of openings to peek into if you're comfortable with overhead environments. Expect to see plenty of squat lobsters tucked into every crevice, dogfish often resting on the seabed nearby, and plumose anemones carpeting the deeper sections of the hull. It’s a solid pick for divers who appreciate a bit of history and don't mind a chillier dive.
