Wreck of Rapid - Scottish West Coast

The Wreck of Rapid isn't one of those sunny, colourful dives, but it holds a grittier charm we really appreciate. Dropping onto her often feels like stepping back in time, even with the kelp swaying around her iron ribs. She’s a proper wreck, broken but still substantial, with the bow and stern sections offering the most to explore. We love finning through the open holds, imagining her cargo, and seeing how nature has reclaimed her. Look out for the nudibranchs tucked into crevices and the blennies darting between the plates. It’s a dive that rewards slow exploration, perfect for those who enjoy the history as much as the fish. Just be prepared for the chill, even in summer, and always check the tides; strong currents can make the dive a real workout. This is a dive for the more experienced, those comfortable with deeper, darker conditions.
