With 77+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales, ocean sunfish (mola mola) and jellyfish lake - Black Reef offers some of Nova Scotia's richest reef diving. Water ranges 1-17°C, warmest July, August, September.
Banco de Santa Clara in Jardines de la Reina offers a solid Caribbean reef dive. While we haven't personally encountered orcas here, green turtles are a common sight, gliding over the coral. It’s a dependable spot for seeing healthy reef ecosystems, suitable for divers looking for consistent marine life without extreme challenges.
